Cult Favorite Items that We Love and Worth Buying!

Have you ever browsing through the internet or just casually scrolling down your Instagram timeline and see the same products over and over again? or have you ever talked to your friends or new friends or no matter that you go and you find an item that is mentioned positively again and again? Yes, that item is what we called as Cult favorites; Cult favorites are those items that are loved by the society and that is why they are famous. How do we determine that these items are actually cult favorites? there are a lot of weigh ins actually, like the quality itself, the price (maybe), a lot of consumer reviews, and etc.

There are TONS of cult favorites out there that people have asked us to buy - but, as you know, we don't just jump! There are a few items that we figured out ourselves and those that are recommended by people for us to buy. We've done a lot of research before hand and throughout the years, we have been purchasing them one by one (we need to save up because we always buy products with our own money) and actually put them into test!

We can honestly say, these items have become our own personal favorites! Despite of them being used OR started being used by a lot of people, we just cant stop using them because we simply love it - the quality speaks for itself. We just need to put it out there because sometimes there are certain people who will no longer use an item because people start using them; sounds ridiculous! If you love it, you love it!

On Today's post, we are picking 5 cult favorites items that we are loving and we think they are worth buying! The items vary from fashion, technology, to skincare! As always, these products have been putted into test months and months and some of them are actually, years! We hope that you will get inspired and hopefully, you will be able to get your hands on them very very soon!

1. Kindle

Ok, first of all, we gotta be honest! The very first time we heard about kindle years ago we were like, who would buy this? -- but here we are now, 7 books later on kindle. lol. When the pandemic and the self-quarantine started around 5 months ago, we researched and dig deeper about kindle and decided to buy it. We don't read like most people do, like 500 pages of books in 3-4 days; it took us longer and frankly, we're pretty bad at reading but we try our best.

However, once we receive and start using kindle, reading GETS A LOT easier; it's compact, its just the matter of swiping, you can buy books and it will show up on your library in 5 minutes frame, you can highlight important lines in your books, and etc. - it's so efficient! And we're not joking you folks, the most important thing, your interest in reading will grow so increasingly that you just cannot stop reading. If i'm not mistaken, Kindle was created by Amazon. And if you buy your books on kindle, it's much much cheaper and we love that deal! We bought this for around IDR 1,9 Mio so thats like around $120? Such a good deal and good investment for your good habits!

2. Designer Face Masks

This one is 100% splurge. We know, you can get MUCH MUCH cheaper price for a face mask, but during the pandemic, we seriously think that since we dont go out so much and we are entering a new normal where face mask is as important as bringing your phone everywhere, why don't we splurge a little bit? At first, we thoufht that one is enough, and i we bough it like one day after the designer announced they're producing face masks. You know what? we ended up buying 8 of them... yes, EIGHT.

The reason we bought it is stated clear just now. But apart from the "need", the design of the face masks represent my culture a lot and we feel like, we have never ever worn a face mask that is more comfortable, more chic, than these face masks -- those reasons justify my reason why they are so worth it!

Our favorite from the bunch is definitely BIYAN, of course you can see that 6 out of all are from the same brand, then Heaven Tanudiredja and Sapto Djojokartiko. I am obsessed with these face masks and i am so aware that they do not come at cheap price at all, but as i mentioned it was a splurge act for me -- and if you have any spare money and wanting a face mask that you admire and keep, i would totally recommend these!

3. CeraVe and Krave Beauty

We have to, HAVE to talk about skincare. You read it right, if you are a skincare fanatic and you like to research around, CeraVe and Krave Beauty are either in the dermatologist recommended products, or the one that always has best reviews from the beauty gurus and of course, best results for your skin concern. We are trying to breakdown why we love them and why we just can stop talking about them:

CeraVe -- Foaming Facial Cleanser

If you know us, you know we've been using the same face wash for the past 3 years; Lush's aquamarina. We wanted to search for its substitute because first, Lush is not available in our country and second, it has fragrance. We tried A LOT of cult favorites like Tatcha, ShiSeido, and etc. but it just didn't click... until this one; The CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser. This is... amazing. When we talk about face wash, we want to search for the one who cleanses your face like a pro BUT does not strip the natural oil in your skin. This perfectly falls in there -- it also has niacinamide, ceramides, and even hyaluronic acid, which will makes sure your face stays hydrated. This comes in a VERY affordable price as well so we just cannot be happier!

We searched for the right cleanser until the end of world because we think, its so important to find the right one. Besides, no one wants to paint on a dirty canvas, yes?

Krave beauty -- Great Barrier Relief Serum

Yoga's sister is actually the one who introduced us to this and from there on we kept buying it because the result is amazing! This serum has a consistency like a moisturizer that contains oils like tamanu oil and rosehip oil; you know where we stand with rosehip oil! Its magic! Anyway, this serum is perfect for those who have been trying a lot of skincare products and they ruin their skin; this will press the reset button. We thankfully don't have that issue but, other than that, this serum also has other benefits like anti aging, reduce the appearance of hyper pigmentation and etc. Our face feels so hydrated after wearing this, and still, topped by a moisturizer. All in all, this is an amazing product... we mean look, we are on our 2nd bottle already!

4. Baccarat Rouge 540 by Maison Francis Kurkdjian (Fragrance)

It was after work and we just finished withdrawing money from the ATM. Just when we were about to head to the elevator there was this girl passing in front of us and smelling like heaven. We were like, what is this fragrance? oh my God we have to have it! 2 weeks later, we smelled it as someone pass at us too and we just needed to ask what it is; Baccarat Rouge 540! It was in August 2019 and after we knew what it is, we remember we directly bought it the next day and fall in love with it eversince.

This fragrance smells sweet in the opening, not cheap sweet, just like a burned caramel. And as it goes thru the hours, it starts to open to even the deeper layer like amber and wood and etc. Everyone loves this, we receive a lot of questions and compliments when we wear this, its a cult favorite! But we dont stop wearing them because it is THAT good. If you can see, we even own the candle! For those of you who would like fragrance, and those who just want one or two, you seriously need this in your life!

5. Insulated Water Bottles

As people who work in business district areas, you see a lot of people (pre-pandemic). Not only people, but also the water bottles they carry along for errands, for lunch, and etc.! We are so glad to see them and even more glad that people are now heading to the environmentally conscious direction! Anyway, we have been loving an insulated water bottle because we think the benefit they give is just so beyond. We have lots and lots of water bottles but the ones that stuck with us and we would like to recommend to everyone is these two that we own: Swell and Lund London.

Not only they look SO CHIC and become the best accessories when you go to lunch with your peers, but quality wise, they are also the best. I have been having them for years now and it still works amazingly and it really showcases the benefits they promised; e.g. 24 hours cold water, 12 hours hot water and etc. Seriously if you still use plastic bottles, stop it, buy these bottles and thank us later!
