My Afternoon with Dior (Fall 2018 Collection) – Collection Review and All its Jazz

Something came up on my inbox a few weeks ago and voila, an invitation from the lovely Dior team to attend their Fall 2018 presentation at one of their boutiques at Plaza Senayan. The idea of a presentation is where the Dior team will showcase their newest collection to the invitees. It contains of some styling and explanation about the current collection. I was invited because I am a customer at Dior and I somehow prefer it that way. Somehow it gives me freedom to write the most honest review and just say things that don't work for me and what works for me. On Today’s post, I’d like to review the collection as well as to give some glimpse of simply what my afternoon looks like with the lovely Dior team.

This was a private event and as I walked through the door, Dior team asked for my identity since you were required to do RSVP prior to attending the event. I thought they were going to do different visual merchandise for the collection but apparently everything stayed the same. Just some DJ set, waiter and waitress carrying food and some new products. I brought my sister as my +1 to the event and we mingled with our sales executive and a few people.

After some mingling, the presentation began. I don’t know for sure but I asked the SE and the presentation was presented by their stylist. The stylist started to explain about the collection and he mentioned that the collection was the combination of a masculine and feminine. The collection was actually inspired by the Dior Homme collection and was intended for women/ladies who like a “head to toe black look”……

OK hold on! and let’s stop there lol.

When I heard about the explanation, I literally left the room and searched for snacks. My personal preference when it comes to fashion is that I am so not a fan or against of and kind a head to toe black look – I just think that there are so many colors and sticking to only one hue for a look is somewhat boring. Most of their newest collection comes in monotone colors as seen in the picture above (behind the stylist). Stylist also mentioned that Dior is famous with their black suit, I think this is an understatement to Saint Laurent since for me, they are the best when it comes to a black suit for women.

The presentation also included their newest sneakers which I cannot believe I would say this; I am not a fan of it. There are a few sneakers and some of them look ok, but there was one sneakers that I think looked very much alike to converse – the only thing differs them was the lace with a Christian Dior logo on it. I, personally, would not even buy it because it comes in white CANVAS. Can you imagine how dirty It would get? For sneakers that worth $ 850...in white canvas? I don’t think so. They come in black, velvet pink and etc. Its cute but I don’t think it’s worth it.

In the meantime, the bags and the heels WERE AMAZING! I’m totally obsessed with it. The new mini lady Dior that comes In a green color? I’m sold. And the velvet blue J’adior kitten heels? Fabulous!

I lean to their classic collection that is more colorful and very feminine.

You can take a look at the classic collection below and I just think that they are amazing. The tutu skirt, white blazer, pink coats and etc. Price wise, its extravagant but it goes through the best hands in the business so there you go. These are some of my favorites in the boutique:

All in all, it was a great afternoon with Dior. The team was lovely and the event went good, as in for the fall 2018 collection, I personally am going to go with a 50:50 feeling; some things I’m not a fan of and some I’m obsessed of. Their classic collection has always been amazing and it latches to their brand.
